Chapter 2 outlines the first session in the treatment program. During this session a rationale for comprehensive behavioral intervention for tics is discussed, and a tic hierarchy is created using worksheets provided. This hierarchy will be used in conjunction with the subjective units of discomfort scale (SUDS) throughout the treatment. Function-based intervention is explored, as well as a behavioral reward program, and training in self-monitoring your tics.
