In this letter to William Beveridge, Winnicott supports Beveridge’s position on the post-war treatment of Germany but disagrees with the nationalisation of doctors. He feels it was ignorance that allowed Beveridge to make medical practice subservient to politics instead of to science, but this ignorance does not reduce Winnicott’s hatred of this act.
