This chapter reviews anxiety disorders in individuals with either an autistic disorder or Asperger's disorder. Building on an overview of the comorbid psychiatric disorders of both autistic disorder and Asperger's disorder, it outlines a process of medical assessment and general psychosocial treatment of anxiety disorders, and concludes with guidelines for psychopharmacological assessment and treatment of anxiety disorders in autism spectrum disorder.
