Chapter 7 further explores in vivo exposures, and focuses on the process of performing an exposure. The chapter discusses the differences between massed and spaced exposures, graduated and intense exposures, and controlled escape and endurance, and compares imaginal exposure with in vivo exposure. Methods for dealing with fearful thoughts during exposures are outlined, as well as how to maintain treatment gains.
