Chapter 2 discusses assessments. The initial assessment includes ICD-specific measures as well as broad-based measures to identify comorbid conditions that can potentially interfere with the efficacy of the CBT-ICD program. The use of questionnaires and of a diagnostic interview will allow the therapist to have a complete view of the client's life situation. The chapter outlines pretreatment assessment objectives, and assessment measures for ICD.
