Chapter 3 reviews the evidence for the effectiveness of cognitive and behavioral therapies in treating children and adolescents with chronic pain conditions, including relaxation-based therapies, biofeedback treatment, and multi-component CBT. This chapter is intended to serve as a resource; therefore, extensive detail is provided in order to not only identify the major published reviews, but to also evaluate the relative strength and conclusiveness of the evidence for CBT.
