This chapter is designed to help the reader determine how well their personal strengths and potential weaknesses align with the realities of this career path. Ten personal strengths associated with success in this career are described, as well as seven potential weaknesses. Readers are encouraged to self-reflect on their strengths and weaknesses by answering exploratory questions. Suggestions to build skills where needed are provided. In addition, readers are encouraged to delve deeper into examining how their specific motivation to pursue this career may impact their path. Given that many people are motivated by personal or family mental health challenges, the extent to which such personal experience is a strength and a potential liability for this career is discussed directly. Finally, readers are encouraged to test their potential fit with this career path through recommended work and volunteer experiences.
