During session 8, the therapist meets with the youth and caregiver to discuss the current progress made and future directions of therapy. The child is empowered by the caregiver’s presence, and the therapist prepares the caregiver for his ongoing role as a coach. Reintroducing the concept of cues from earlier sessions, the therapist prepares the youth and the caregiver for the upcoming exposure sessions. Strategies for direct instruction and modeling of the coaching role are included for the therapist.
