In this obituary for Susan Isaacs, Winnicott describes how Isaacs turned to the new insight offered by Freudian psychoanalysis as soon as this work became generally known in England. According to Winnicott, Isaacs gathered comprehensive data on children’s behaviour, thoughts, and feelings in her two books Intellectual Growth in Young Children (1930) and Social Development in Young Children (1933).
