In this letter to Anna M. Kulka, Winnicott congratulates her on her paper ‘Kinesthetic Needs and Motility in Earliest Infancy’, which he found very interesting. He discusses his views of ego development and the oral erotic relationship in infant feeding. He further recommends the paper ‘Importance du rôle de la motricité dans la relation d’objet’, by Pierre Marty et Michael Fain, based on a paper read at the Congress of Psychoanalysis given in 1955.
