In this unfinished paper, never given, Winnicott debates the sources of aggression from a psychoanalytic perspective. He advocates discarding the contributions of Freud on the Death Instinct and Klein on envy as laid out in her 1955 paper, and unlinking these concepts from their authors in order to asses their value free of loyalty or cliché.
