Winnicott writes a foreword to a biography by Dorothy Gardner of the life and work of psychoanalyst and educationalist Susan Isaacs, stating his grief and anger at her loss. He describes how they trained together at the Institute of Psychoanalysis, how he was invited by her to lecture to Isaacs’ students at the Department of Child Development, London University for many years, and how he provided child cases for the Child Training at the Institute of Psychoanalysis, a training which she organised
