Dr. Maurice N. Walsh,

Los Angeles Psychoanalytic Society,

344 North Bedford Drive,

Beverly Hills, California,

U.S.A.

Dear Dr.Walsh,

I realise that I have not answered your letter of December 1st 1961. It appears to be fixed now that I shall address the Los Angeles Psychoanalytic Society on Thursday 4th October and I am grateful to you for arranging the change from the third Thursday to the first on this occasion in order to fit in with my plans.

Would it be suitable if I were to speak on the subject of “Dependence in Infant Care, in Child Care, and in Psycho-Analysis”? It is difficult to know at this early date what I will feel like talking about in October but I think this title would give me the flexibility I need and would also give you some indication of my intention. Please let me know if you have comments to make on this.

Yours very sincerely,

D W Winnicott
