This chapter explores the experiences of the author in different psychoanalytic psychotherapies, their initial difficulties, learning how to use therapy, and their own approaches to therapy. The primary purpose of this chapter is to further explore the connections between the continuing and particular roles each of the therapies played in determining the author’s actions as a therapist.
