Chapter 4 presents an interview between Clara Park, a champion of a family's adaptive coping to the challenges of autism, and her daughter to describe the stressors of autism and their search for the positive, normal life routines of work and play that can be triumphs over life's stressors. They also discuss buffers to stress and the importance of an authentic relationship and support to nurturing adaptation and learning.
