Chapter 11 explores the death of the contributor’s mother from suicide when the contributor was 1 year old. It discusses depression that had permeated his mother’s life, as well as a mismatch in style between her and her husband’s family, has reverberated through the contributor’s life and the lives of his relatives for seven decades in untruth, distance, blame, and difficulties in relating to women.
