Chapter 2 outlines the first CBSM for HIV session in the therapy program. This session explores stressors and stress responses. Participants are encouraged to list their personal stressors and the stressful reactions that these trigger. Physical effects of stress are discussed (fight-or-flight, other bodily changes), along with health consequences of stress, including immune functioning responses. Progressive muscle relaxation (PMR) is also explored.
