Chapter 5 explores data collection. This chapter describes the major areas of data collection in parenting capacity evaluations and relevant issues to be considered in each area. Common components in forensic mental health assessment in a child protection context include reviewing records, interviewing examinees, interviewing collateral or third party sources, observing parents with their children, and conducting testing.
