Chapter 3 provides an outline to how to run the first session of the group and explains the goals and purposes of the group, including increasing group members’ knowledge about common signs and symptoms of SAD, and learning skills to help group members cope better with SAD symptoms and seasonal changes. Group confidentiality is discussed, along with a background to CBT, what group members can expect from the program, and homework assignments.
