Chapter 5 explores data collection, and discusses the first three phases of a proposed five-stage assessment. These stages address the status of the plaintiff at the periods before, during, and after the alleged discrimination, such as chronic mental disorders, child sexual abuse, external stressors or health problems. Formats and structures for claimant interviews are also outlined.
