Chapter 5 discusses the third session of treatment, which introduces the child to the OCD treatment program. In this session the child is encouraged to name their OCD and the program is outlined. The reward program developed by the parents is also introduced, as well as the feelings thermometer and self-monitoring techniques, which will be used throughout the program to record anxiety levels and monitor progress. The differential attention technique of praise and encouragement is discussed.
