Chapter 8 outlines the sixth session of the treatment program and introduces the technique of scaffolding or coaching, by which the child takes increasing levels of responsibility for their symptom management. A step-by-step method is presented. If necessary, comorbidity and other therapeutic needs should be discussed. This session also includes an E/RP exercise.
