Chapter 1 presents an overview of the exercise program for mood and anxiety disorders. This includes a brief introduction into the reasoning and rationale behind the development of a formal treatment program for exercise, overcoming self-effacing feelings and a lack of motivation, working with a support team and the clinician, and knowing physical limitations. Worksheets are included to help the client focus their treatment onto the specific symptoms they wish to target.
