This chapter provides a review of affective problems seen in cognitivelyimpaired older adults, focusing on depression, anxiety, and sleep disturbances. Itwill review assessment strategies and describe a theoretically based and empiricallyvalidated approach to psychological treatment of these disturbances. Thefocus is on community-residing individuals with Alzheimer’s disease (AD) orrelated dementia.
