Chapter 42 examines how food addiction is currently being assessed in clinical and research settings, and reviews recent studies designed to develop valid tools for the assessment of food addiction, including the Yale Food Addiction Scale (YFAS). It also discusses limitations of existing approaches, and highlights future directions in the assessment of food addiction.
