This chapter provides the script for the new 6 45-minute enhanced-dissonance version of the Body Project, which was developed to accommodate delivery settings where devoting an entire hour per session did not fit the schedule. The content of this version of the intervention is almost identical to the 4-session version, defining the thin-ideal and discussing the costs of pursuing it, engaging in role-plays and quick comebacks that challenge thin-ideal statements, and discussing and debriefing homework assignments that include writing letters to younger girls telling them not to pursue the thin-ideal, and doing behavioral challenges and body activism. A few extra home exercises were added to this 6-session version, including writing a “news flash” regarding how the media promotes the thin-ideal.
